If you can remember a few weeks back I stated that I was going to re-home a bun who had been abandoned and the beaten up by wild rabbits and was in a sorry way.

Unfortunately, he did not make it and died at the RSPCA centre. Considering the state he was in when I saw him I am surprised he survived that long. Washer RIP.

However, they have had in another bun since. This rabbit was also found in the same area as the last one. No wild bunnies had had this one though. So we picked it up this morning. It has been christened Semaphore as it's ears point in different directions as if it sending a message.

Will have to book at vet's appointment as the lady at the centre is not sure whether it's male or female. It will be spayed or neutered in any case as there is health concerns later on in life.

At 7.30 this morning I was in the garage setting up a second run, next to Nuts so that they can get used to each others smell etc. It also means that they will not fight if they do not get on.

Speaking to the lady at the RSPCA centre they are having problems re-homing cats in this area. All of the animal charities such as the Cats protection and Animal concern are having the same problem. So please if you are looking for a pet, consider rescue animals first. Also, consider an adult animal as they are often the hardest to re-home.

What is the best way that you have discovered to clean the inside of your windows?

We have a window cleaner who does the outside and does a lovely job but it doesn't half show up the inside dirt.

Can you please pass on your tips etc for cleaning the inside of windows. I would prefer to use more natural ways as I am trying to cut down my use of cleaning chemicals etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hello all,

I need your help on a discussion that happened in the office today. Above the printer/photocopier machine we have the following sign:

"If you use the last of the paper, please will you go down to the print room to get some more"

At the end of that sentence there was originally a question mark. I went and tipexed it out to leave just a full stop as, I believe, it is not a question but a statement or an order. My colleague says that the question mark is correct, as there is the word 'will' in the sentence.

What are your views and answers on this?

Since the weather was sunny and bright, his nibbs and myself decided to take a little trip on the La'al Ratty Train to the Eskdale Boot area.

The link shows some of the pictures that I took on the day. I took loads but these are the ones I liked the most. Mau's pictures on Flikr

Off to a "Fun Dog Show" run by the RSPCA tomorrow. It is being organised by the local branch from whom I acquired Postlethwaite the cat, Nuts and Bolts the buns from. Will hopefully be getting some pictures from there aswell.

Hope everyone's weekend is going/went well.

Click on the link below and it will take you to my flickr page where I have put up some shots taken on my new toy.

The only photo editing software I have used on them is Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and that was to re-size them. One of my aims over the summer break is to learn Photo Shop so that way I can really get creative.

Feel free to leave any comments here or on Flickr.

Will be out and about to get scenic shots sometime this week.

Unless I hear about my wandering camera before the 28th May it looks like I will be getting a new digital one.

I have been doing a bit of research and the one I like is the FujiFilm s8000FD, it has also had some good reviews.

I am looking for about 10MP, 8+ optical zoom, face recognition, and some thing that can do a decent landscape. Not will to pay too much more that £200. Not too bothered about size, have big handbags :-).

So if you have any comments on the camera above or can recommend another please feel free.

Thanks

M.

I have returned from my long weekend trip to Whitby.

It is a bloody lovely place. The abbey is gorgeous and the steps are not too bad. The chips from Magpies take away are scrummy. The Dracula experience is worth the £2.50 entry fee, just for the amount of cheese. Also bought myself a really nice coffin shaped handbag.

The steam trains were great, finally got to see Tornado in steam. Had lunch, all dressed up, in a Pullman dining car.

All in all a good weekend was had. May have to go again.

According to the worlds media etc we:

1. Are going to die from a pandemic of a new flu virus thingy.
2. Have to live in cardboard boxes as the economy falls apart around our years and we can't afford accommodation etc.
3. Become extent due to global warming.
4. Be destroyed by our own intelligence and advancement in science and it all turns on us.

So my advice is:

1. Be nice to people, be polite, smile and be friendly. If we are going to go out, go out with a smile. It can also freak people out as they are not used to other people being nice, polite and friendly. Although if you need to tell someone they truth, do so.

2. When you wake up, at least you have woken up. Be thankful, you have at least started the day in a positive way.

3. Ironing and housework can wait, seeing that moment of natural beauty outside is a one off moment. Breath in the air and the wonder of nature.

4. Love yourself, there is only one of you. You are special and unique. So you may have a blobby belly and jelly thighs but your smile may light up a room and lets face it, most models/celebrities may look thin but they also look miserable. Maybe they should eat the chocolate :-)

5. Listen to your favourite song, dance like a loon who cares who sees you. Go for it.

actual house ones not personal ones.......

When water runs down drains in large quantities such as the bath, the loos in my house glug. The down stairs loo is taking a while to drain. One of the upstairs ones did it for about two flushes but is now fine.

any ideas?
